Mechanical Engineering
Machine and plant builders use VOL-Stahl special profiles wherever standard sections end — custom cross-sections, linear guide rails, telescopic slides and tool steel from one partner.

Profiles instead of machining
Many machine components start as heavy milled or welded parts. A hot-rolled or cold-drawn special profile in the finished cross-section often replaces them at lower cost: less material waste, less machining time and consistent quality from the first to the last meter.
Guides and motion
For moving axes we supply cold-drawn precision profiles for linear guide rails, guide carriages and telescopic slides — from miniature rails to the largest dimensions, on request hardened, machined and ready to install.
Engineering support
Our engineering team works from your drawing and advises on cross-section design, steel grade selection and heat treatment. Steel properties can be tailored through chemical composition — the right material for every load case, from 0.4 to 45 kg per meter.
Typical applications
- Custom special profiles to customer drawing
- Linear guide rails and guide carriages
- Telescopic slides for machine axes
- Machine frame and guideway profiles
- Hot-work and cold-work tool steel
- Machined, ready-to-install components
VOL-Stahl is a development partner for mechanical and plant engineering: we manufacture hot-rolled, cold-rolled and cold-drawn special steel profiles from 0.4 to 45 kg per meter to exact customer drawings — often replacing expensive milled, welded or laser-cut parts with a near-net-shape profile. The range is completed by cold-drawn precision profiles for linear technology, telescopic slides, machined ready-to-install components and tool steel in hot-work and cold-work grades. With our own European rolling mills and drawing plants we combine engineering support, material flexibility and certified ISO 9001:2015 quality.
